This American violin from the late 19th century possesses a sweet and warm tone, with excellent blending qualities. One-piece quarter sawn maple back, with very interesting medium width flaming, of irregular shapes. The top is of clear and straight medium grained spruce. The varnish is golden orange over a golden ground.

Harrison Harvey Heskett was born in Londonderry, Ohio. His most productive years were spent in Columbus, Ohio and later in Minneapolis. He died in 1898. He is known for his very good workmanship and the use of a Guarneri-inspired pattern.
